Your rights as a data subject

Using the contact details above, you may exercise the following rights at any time:

  • Access to the data we hold about you and how it is processed (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • Rectification of inaccurate personal data (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • Erasure of the data we hold about you (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • Restriction of processing, where we are not yet permitted to erase your data due to legal obligations (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • Objection to the processing of your data by us (Art. 21 GDPR), and
  • Data portability, provided you have consented to the processing or entered into a contract with us (Art. 20 GDPR).

Where you have given us consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority at any time, for example the authority responsible for the federal state in which you reside or the authority responsible for us. For Berlin this is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. A list of supervisory authorities (for the non-public sector) with addresses is available at: www.bfdi.bund.de .

General information collected when visiting our website

Nature and purpose of processing: When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of browser and operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, your IP address and similar data. It is processed in particular for the following purposes:

  • ensuring the website connects reliably,
  • ensuring our website can be used smoothly,
  • evaluating system security and stability.

We do not use this data to draw conclusions about you as a person.

Legal basis and legitimate interest: Processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in the stability, security and functionality of our website.

Recipients: Our website is hosted by IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). IONOS processes the above server log files as a processor on our behalf, on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Processing takes place in data centres in Germany. Your data is not transferred to any third country outside the EU or the EEA.

Storage period: The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. For server log files, this is the case after a short period.

Contact form

Nature and purpose of processing: You can send us a message using the contact form on our website. The data you enter – first name, last name, email address and the content of your message – is processed for the purpose of handling your enquiry and communicating with you afterwards. Providing this data is necessary so that we can attribute and answer your enquiry.

Legal basis: Processing of the data submitted via the contact form is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in receiving your enquiry and answering it properly – in particular by addressing you correctly by name. Where your enquiry concerns arranging or carrying out treatment, processing is additionally carried out to take pre-contractual or contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You may object to this legitimate-interest processing at any time with effect for the future (see your right to object below); however, we will then be unable to process your enquiry further.

Recipients: The details you submit are processed on the web space of our host IONOS SE; the message is delivered to our inbox via the IONOS mail server. No additional email service provider is involved — IONOS is therefore our only processor, on the basis of the data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR referred to above. Your data is not transferred to any third country outside the EU or the EEA.

Storage period: Your details are deleted at the latest six months after your enquiry has been finally dealt with. If a treatment or contractual relationship arises, the statutory retention periods apply.

Spam protection: To fend off automated bulk submissions, we limit how often the form can be submitted from the same connection in succession. When you submit the form, we therefore store on our server an irreversible check value (hash) of your IP address, generated using a secret additional value. Your IP address itself is not stored in plain text. This check value tells us whether another submission is made within 30 seconds, in which case we reject the request. The check value is used for this purpose only; it is not used to identify you, is not combined with other data and is not used to analyse your behaviour. Once the 30 seconds have elapsed the check value has no further effect and is removed when our server’s temporary directory is cleaned up automatically. In addition, the form contains a field that is invisible to you and is typically only filled in by automated programs; we discard such submissions. For both measures we use neither cookies nor a captcha or any other third-party service. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing misuse and keeping the contact form functional (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Provision required or necessary: Providing your data is voluntary. However, without your name, email address and the reason for your enquiry we cannot process your request.

No cookies, no tracking

Our website is deliberately designed to minimise data. We use no cookies, no analytics or tracking services and no advertising technologies. No usage profiles are created. We also do not embed fonts via external services but serve them from our own server – so no data is transmitted to third parties (such as Google Fonts).

On our contact page we link to Google Maps so that you can conveniently look up how to reach us. This is a simple link – no maps or content from Google are embedded in our page. Only when you actively click the link do you leave our website and get redirected to Google (Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC). We have no influence over the subsequent data processing by Google; the Google Privacy Policy then applies.

SSL encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. TLS) over HTTPS.

Information about your right to object under Art. 21 GDPR

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you which is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (processing based on a balancing of interests).

If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.
